Zhengkang brand thin-wall stainless steel pipe, Xiangsu PVC water supply pipe, Jinhuang PVC water supply pipe and other 17 products are unqualified.

According to the announcement, from February to April 2014, the national health and Family Planning Commission launched a nationwide special rectification action for drinking water pipes and fittings, comprehensively investigated and checked the production enterprises and products of water transmission and distribution pipe materials and pipe fittings, found and rectified outstanding problems, and prevented unqualified products from polluting drinking water. During the special rectification period, 2378 production enterprises and 1442 business units were supervised and inspected on the spot. 546 products were sampled and 17 of them were unqualified. It includes liantai brand rigid polyvinyl chloride (PVC-U) pipes for water supply, Zhengkang brand thin-wall stainless steel pipes, Xinya water supply pipes (PVC-U), Jinhuang PVC water supply pipes, Haifan PVC-U drinking water pipes, etc. The reason of disqualification is that the content of lead is unqualified.

According to the announcement, the health and Family Planning Commission has instructed local health and family planning administrative departments to deal with unqualified products and relevant responsible units according to law. The health and Family Planning Commission said that in the next step, it will continue to strengthen the supervision and random inspection of products involving the health and safety of drinking water.
