At the beginning of this year, some media exposed the problem of some enterprises using recycled waste to produce pipes and fittings for drinking water transmission and distribution, which had a bad social impact. In order to comprehensively investigate and check the production enterprises and their products of water transmission and distribution pipes and fittings, discover and rectify outstanding problems, and prevent unqualified products from polluting drinking water, the national health and Family Planning Commission launched a nationwide special rectification action for drinking water pipes and fittings from February to April this year. During the special rectification period, 2378 production enterprises and 1442 business units were supervised and inspected on the spot. 546 products were sampled and 17 of them were unqualified.
